Mechanical Design Engineer

Main Role

The primary role is to provide detailed design drawings of assemblies and components for manufacture.

Responsibilities

Full knowledge of SolidWorks including FE analysis.
Knowledge of Stock control / Bill of Materials software such as Sage

Must have a good understanding of
Manufacturing Techniques
Gearboxes, Rotating Machinery, Hydraulic / Electric Drives
Mechanical Standards

Working along side Sales and Production, you will be able to work up new designs using historic project data and your own experiences to produce general and detailed drawings for sales, production and assembly.

Also be able to generate Parts lists / BoM lists

Qualifications

An HND or BEng in engineering design
Previous experience in Marine winch, mining, crane industry or Industrial gearboxes
Minimum of five years design / project involvement.

CNC Horizontal Borer

Main Role

The primary role is to support the manufacturing production schedule.

Responsibilities

To complete machining tasks in a safe, efficient manor to correct dimensional accuracy from issued engineering drawings.

Qualifications / Experience

Time served engineer
Experience of a Medium to Heavy engineering workshop, with single components up to 5000 kg in weight
Experience of large capacity 3m x 2m x 2m CNC borers, heidenhein control, 5 axis machining or similar
Experience of other operations i.e. Milling, Turning, Slotting an advantage but not essential.

Earnings up to £40K
39 hour week Monday-Friday

Manual / CNC Turner

Main Role

The primary role is to support the manufacturing production schedule.

Responsibilities

To complete machining tasks in a safe, efficient manor to correct dimensional accuracy from issued engineering drawings.

Qualifications / Experience

Time served engineer
Experience of a light to medium engineering workshop, with single components up to 1000kg in weight
Experience of various manual machines such as Colchester, Harrison, DSG, Binns and Berry. Haas CNC, control Haas (Fanuc)
Typical types of work include Shafts, gears, drum flanges, bearing housings etc.
Small batch runs 1 off up to 100.

Project / Sales Engineer

Main Role

The primary role is to provide engineering support, business administration and sales support under the direction of the Technical Sales Director.

Responsibilities

To carry out a project engineer function providing a support to the company in all aspects of its products.
Contribute to the sales effort through client contact and meetings, preparation of proposals and tenders, spares and service back up.
Provide technical support to the design department including technical details of components, material specification and costs.
Compilation of closeout reports, FAT procedures and manufacturing data books.
Ensure ISO 9001 is adhered to.

Qualifications / Experience

An HND, BEng or BSc in mechanical engineering
Experience within a project engineering environment
Excellent Communication skills to enable effective Client Liaison
Effective in dealing with commercial and management aspects of the role
Careful and meticulous professional, motivated self starter
Good technical ability
