Last week saw North Sea Winches complete production of a Hydraulically Driven Single Drum Umbilical Winch capable of 700Kg (SWL) & a 15KW Electro Hydraulic Power Unit for the Van Oord Offshore Wind Project BV. Both the winch and EHPU were bespoke designs manufactured to meet the client requirements; designed, machined, assembled, painted and tested in house.

The performance facts for both of the units are as follows:

EHPU

• 15KW (20HP)
• 250 Bar (Maximum Continuous Running) – 275 Bar Peak Pressure
• 30 L/Min.

Umbilical Winch

• 700 Kg Lift
• Pull at 20M/Min on Core (1st Layer)
• Rendering (cross-line relief) to be effective at 900kg max
• Wire rope capacity: 150 Metres of 32mm (+/-0.5) Æ wire umbilical.
