Do you design, manufacture, test and paint in-house?
Yes, we do everything in house which allows us to minimise risks as well as accurately cost and schedule project timescales.
Can you also supply wire rope for the winches?
Yes over many years we have developed fantastic relationships with several rope suppliers which can produce any type of rope that may be required for the application
Do you offer system packages for example umbilical cable laying systems?
Yes, we can manufacture the entire system from the A-frame & winch to the controls used to power the system whether they be electric or hydraulic.
Do we have to arrange our own logistics?
Not necessarily we can arrange freight nationally and internationally to ensure the cargo is delivered to site in a timely manner and in factory condition.
What type of winches do you make/supply?
North Sea Winches make electric and hydraulic anchor handling & towing winches, mooring winches and capstans, deck tugger winches, anchor windlasses and anchor capstans, AHC and constant tension winches, traction winches, LARS, A&R and umbilical winches
Which markets do you supply to?

What size do your winches go up to?
We make electric and hydraulic winches from 1 tonne up to 250 tonnes
What about space limitations?
All our winches are designed and built in-house so we are very versatile and can build winches etc. to suit existing space limitations and hydraulic or electric parameters
Do you have certification?
We have ISO 9001:2015 and we can supply winches to all the major classification bodies (IACS) such as Lloyds, DNV-GF, Bureau Veritas, ABS and RINA, for instance Winches without certification are designed using the guidelines of Lloyds Code for Lifting Appliances in a Marine Environment (CLAME) and DIN 15020 – Principles Relating to Rope Drives
Do you offer after-sales support?
North Sea Winches personnel can be mobilised for commissioning, training and sea trials worldwide. In addition, we can supply spares to all our winches on short lead times to all corners of the globe
What test facilities do you have?
We have our own test bed which is capable of testing winches up to 100 tonnes on a static/brake test. It can also be used for proving AHC and CT winches
What marine protection do you employ?
We have an on-site shot-blast and finishing plants and we use Jotun paints for excellent protection in marine environments
