Senior Design Engineer
Mechanical Design Engineer reporting to the Managing Director.
To support current growth plans we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small team based on the North Yorkshire Coast.
You should have good experience in medium / heavy mechanical engineering environment, preferably winch design but gearbox, crane or associated load bearing systems.
Must be educated to degree or master’s in engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar field, such as winch, crane, industrial gearbox, special machinery, or drivetrain. Experience in electrical or hydraulic circuits would also be an advantage.
You will work closely with the sales department and provide Tender drawings for clients as well as detailed engineering drawings, assembly drawings, installation drawings and Bill of Material lists for the production department.
You should be highly competent in SolidWorks 3D and stress analysis both handwritten calcs and use of FEA also have knowledge of computer stock systems such as Sage for BOM creation.
The right candidate is confident, self-motivated, and able to work with little supervision and have good attention to detail.
They will be able to use their own judgement and problem-solving skills.
Experience within a project engineering environment
Excellent Communication skills to enable effective Client Liaison
Effective in dealing with commercial and management aspects of the role.
Careful and meticulous professional, motivated self starter
Good practical ability.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER/FITTER
Main Role:
The primary role is to support the manufacturing production schedule.
Responsibilities:
To assemble and test winches and associated components from assembly drawings.
Qualifications / Experience:
Minimum 5 GCSE / O’Level / CSE including A-C Grade in Maths and English
Time served engineer minimum 5 years’ experience
Experience of a medium to heavy engineering workshop, with single components up to 1000kg in weight
Experience of fitting and use of hand and battery tools for the assembly of Gearcases, shaft assemblies, bearing housings, Hydraulic Manifolds, Bed plates, Side plates, Splines and Keyways.
Electrical and hydraulic knowledge is desirable
Experience of other machining operations i.e., Milling Turning, Slotting an advantage but not essential.

Negotiated rates from £18.50 / hr
Overtime available 1.5 x basic

MANUAL TURNER
Main Role:
The primary role is to support the manufacturing production schedule.
Responsibilities:
To complete machining tasks in a safe, efficient manor to correct dimensional accuracy from issued engineering drawings.
Qualifications / Experience:
Time served engineer
Experience of a light to medium engineering workshop, with single components up to 2000kg in weight
Experience of various manual machines such as Colchester, Harrison, DSG, Binns and Berry.
Typical types of work include Shafts, gears, drum flanges, bearing housings etc.
Small batch runs 1 off up to 20.
